Mining IQ was at Minexpo last week and we want to share some of our thoughts and photos with our readers.
The enormous trucks at CAT
With over 45,000 attendees at this year’s event, it was easy to get lost at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The three-day event saw crowds of people ranging from mining companies to vendors to publications and students.

Naturally, Day 1 and Day 2 were fully packed and everyone was busy networking, exchanging business cards and introducing themselves. It was only on Day 3 could we take a breath and sit down to have a long chat with exhibitors.
Many attendees flocked to Joy Global's exhibit area
In terms of outstanding exhibitors, no one could deny the presence of CAT, Joy Global and Komatsu - all of them had large areas dedicated to their products.

In terms of fellow Australians, we saw Austmine who helped host a lot of the Australian vendors’ booths. Other similar associations like CAMESE (Canadian Association of Mining Equipment and Services for Export) were also on site and helped pushed Canadian mining suppliers onto an international playing field.
Titan tyres and rims
What we noticed at this year’s Minexpo was the increasing number of Chinese and Canadian companies from four years ago, demonstrating their rising strength and expertise in the international playing field.
