Since China reduced rare earths export in 2010, many international miners have been looking at ways to take advantage of the opening the market. In particular, Australia is seen as a possible leader in this field. But what do Australian miners need to do to make this possible? And what about environmental concerns and Australia's long term strategy in this area?
Ian Chalmers, the Managing Director of Alkane Resources talks to Mining IQ about this and how he thinks Australia can position itself to become a leader in the rare earths and strategic metals industry.
