The Province of British Columbia has developed a document outlining the emergency preparedness requirements of the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in British Columbia. These Mine Emergency Response Plan Guidelines suggest approaches for preparing, training and organizing personnel for managing a mine emergency operation.

The document also includes information about whom and what resources may be needed, how and where personal and supplies may be mobilized, and what actions may be taken to secure the mine site, safeguard the operation and protect personnel in the event of a mine emergency.
