Sampling can be associated with nearly every decision made on a mine site, yet until recently it’s often been undervalued, rather than being recognised as a tool that can save hundreds of millions of dollars.

Every year poor quality sampling methods and inaccurate results come at a cost to the mine site. In the current market conditions, it’s never been more fundamental to improve simple sampling techniques and drive efficiency, productivity and ultimately improve your overall mine site’s profitability.

Mining IQ recently spoke to David Wesley, Senior Mine Geologist, CST who believes the key to improving the efficiency of sampling lies in the human aspects of the job.
